Editor’s Note: Due to the pandemic, fewer teams are playing this year and schools are competing in bubbles. With that in mind, we’ve temporarily lowered the total number of teams in our rankings. While some common competitors will not face each other this season due to the pandemic, we will continue to provide rankings this season by going safely to matches and talking to coaches.
In addition, many teams do not play basketball during the traditional winter season. MassLive will consider any school that plays or intends to play the traditional winter season in its Top 10.

Wahconah finally kicked off his season last week and showed just how dominant his team is, opening the winter at 4-0 with four games in four days. In the season opener, senior Maria Gamberoni hit her 1000th career point to become the first Wahconah women’s basketball to reach the milestone since 2002. In the final game of this stretch, the The warriors defeated the Hoosac Valley in a rematch of the 2020 Western Massachusetts Division III Finals.
Chicopee gains a few spots as the Pacers remain unbeaten at 3-0, while Central are still waiting to open their season. The middle of the standings remains the same until eighth place where now stands undefeated Greenfield.
Minnechaug is closing in after a narrow loss to East Longmeadow, while Westfield ranks 10th after a loss to Agawam.
