Jobs on Adzuna jumped to 987,800 in the first week of May, up 18% from the end of March, which was before non-essential retailers and hospitality businesses reopened for the foreign service on April 12.
Restrictions on pubs and restaurants serving customers indoors were lifted again in England on Monday.
Adzuna said companies looking to hire included pub companies Whitbread (WTB.L), Stonegate Pub Company and JD Wetherspoons (JDW.L), restaurant chains Nando’s and Pizza Express, Marriott hotels and airline Ryanair. (RYA.I).
However, many workers have given up on seeking hospitality and retail jobs in favor of safer work after three lockdowns in the past year, he said.

Adzuna said 250,000 fewer job seekers from Western Europe and North America applied to the UK each month between February and April than before the pandemic.
“UK employers can no longer rely on foreign workers to fill the employment gap,” said Mr Hunter.
A combination of Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic has reportedly reduced the number of foreign workers in Britain.
The UK Bureau of Statistics estimates that the number of non-UK nationals employed in the country in the last three months of 2020 fell 4.0% from the same period of 2019 to 4.22 million, based on tax data, against a decrease of 2.6% for British nationals. to 24.0 million.
Adzuna said there were 13 jobs on offer for every job seeker in Manchester while the ratio in Cambridge and Oxford was 11. In Maidstone, in the south-east of England, there were 20 jobs. for each job seeker.
The labor shortage is not unique to Britain. Hotel companies in parts of the United States have said their vacation periods are threatened by understaffing, echoing recent problems in Australia.
A feared increase in job losses in Britain has not happened, in large part thanks to a massive government job subsidy program. This holiday program is expected to be phased out over the summer before ending in September.
A separate survey showed UK employers were the most optimistic about hiring since 2013, with base salary expectations set to drop from 1% to 2% over the next 12 months.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s survey of more than 1,000 employers also found that layoff intentions had returned to pre-pandemic levels.
